What should I know before I arrive?

Fares, hours and rules checked October 30, 2026

Haeundae Blueline Park is two separate rides on one old coastal rail corridor: a slow Sky Capsule for views and a Beach Train that doubles as transport. According to the operator's Sky Capsule page, 80 capsules, each seating 4, run on a double track along a 2.0 km section between Mipo and Cheongsapo, about 7 to 10 metres above the ground, at roughly 4 km/h. The Beach Train page describes a 4.8 km line from Mipo to Songjeong, about 25 minutes one way.

  • Worth knowing: Sky Capsule fares are charged per capsule, so a full group of four pays less per person. Capsules hold four people at most.
  • A common mistake: Arriving late. The operator says boarding may be refused if you arrive more than 30 minutes after your reservation, with no refund.
  • Local tip: Search 해운대 블루라인파크 in Naver Map or Kakao Map for live routes. See our essential apps guide and Naver Map in English for setup.

Mipo and Songjeong are the end stations, and the operator says passengers must get off there. Cheongsapo is the main midpoint station, according to the station list.

How much do the Sky Capsule and Beach Train cost?

The Sky Capsule is 50,000 to 60,000 won per capsule one way, and the Beach Train is 8,000 to 16,000 won per person depending on the pass. Prices below come from the operator's official fares page; confirm them there because they change.

Infants under 36 months ride free on both, and staff may ask for proof of age, per the operator's FAQ. Strollers must be folded, and electric wheelchairs are not allowed on either ride. Local resident discounts are available only on on-site tickets with ID.

How do I book, and how early?

Book on the operator's site as early as you can: each week's tickets open four weeks ahead, every Tuesday at 07:00 KST. The reservation page says tickets for the Monday-to-Sunday week four weeks out go on sale each Tuesday morning.

  1. Pick a station and time. Capsule reservations give an entry window, not an exact departure, and you can only board at the station you reserved.
  2. Enter contact details exactly. Mobile tickets are sent via KakaoTalk or email, and the QR code is your boarding pass.
  3. Arrive early. Beach Train boarding closes 10 minutes before departure, and arrivals over 30 minutes late may be refused.
  4. Know the refund steps. Cancelling 3 days before is a full refund; 2 days before 80%; 1 day before 70%; on the day 50%.

A limited number of tickets are sold on-site on a first-come basis. The FAQ also warns that some overseas credit cards may be declined online because of a change in authentication, so have a backup plan such as an on-site purchase.

How do I get to Mipo Station?

The operator lists Busan Subway Line 2 to Jungdong Station, Exit 7, then a walk of roughly 10 to 15 minutes to Mipo Station. Its directions page gives these routes:

Our Busan Metro guide explains fares and payment, and a T-money card works on the buses. Luggage is allowed, but lockers at Mipo, Cheongsapo and Songjeong are recommended; they accept only 1,000 won bills, per the FAQ.

What are the hours and what happens in bad weather?

In October the Sky Capsule runs 08:30 to 18:30 and the Beach Train 09:00 to 19:30, but hours shorten from November. The operator groups months into seasons on its Sky Capsule hours and Beach Train hours pages, which were labeled 2025 when checked.

High seasonMay, Jun, Sep08:30 to 19:3009:00 to 20:30
Peak summerJul, Aug08:30 to 20:3009:00 to 21:30

Rain usually does not stop service, but heavy rain or a typhoon may suspend operations, and weekend or holiday boarding times may be adjusted. In November, sunset comes early, so the winter closing time matters if you want evening light. See our Korea in November guide for weather.

How should I plan the ride?

Choose one long ride and one short one: the Sky Capsule for the scenery, then the Beach Train to return or continue. Because the capsule is slow, it suits a relaxed half day rather than a tight schedule.

Practical example: two friends staying near Haeundae Beach could take Line 2 to Jungdong, reserve a Mipo-to-Cheongsapo capsule for 50,000 won total, then buy two 8,000 won one-way Beach Train tickets from Cheongsapo to Mipo. Combine it with the beach in Haeundae vs Gwangalli, or the temple in the Haedong Yonggungsa guide. For a full itinerary see Busan in 3 Days.

FAQ

How much does the Busan Sky Capsule cost?

The operator lists Sky Capsule fares per capsule, not per person: 50,000 won for 2 people, 55,000 won for 3 and 60,000 won for 4, one way. Check the official fares page before booking because prices can change.

Is the Sky Capsule open in November?

Yes, but with shorter hours. The operator's schedule shows the winter season from November to February with the Sky Capsule running 08:30 to 18:00 and the Beach Train 09:00 to 19:00. The operator's page is labeled 2025, so confirm current hours.

How far ahead can I book the Sky Capsule?

The operator opens tickets for the Monday-to-Sunday week four weeks ahead every Tuesday at 07:00 a.m. KST. A limited number of on-site tickets are sold first-come, first-served.

Can I ride the Sky Capsule round trip?

The Sky Capsule is booked one way. Capsules run in both directions between Mipo and Cheongsapo, and you can only board at the station you reserved. Book a second ride if you want to return by capsule, or come back on the Beach Train.

Do I need to take the Sky Capsule to use the Beach Train?

No. The Beach Train is a separate ticket, from 10,000 won one way at Mipo or Songjeong. A package with the Beach Train plus a one-way Sky Capsule is also listed for groups of 2 to 4.
